Projects with GE & FieldCore

As part of its strategic partnerships with General Electric (GE) and FieldCore, the American companies responsible for carrying out major overhauls and emergency maintenance works on behalf of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) and power generation plants across the country, LIGOS participated in the execution of eight projects distributed across several regions in Libya. The scope of LIGOS’s work included the provision of comprehensive logistical support and specialized technical manpower to ensure the successful delivery of these critical projects in accordance with the highest technical standards and approved schedules.
These works included a major overhaul of the fifth gas turbine unit at Benghazi Power Plant, which extended for approximately three months. LIGOS also collaborated with GE at Al-Khoms Power Plant in central Libya on two projects, the first involving a major overhaul of the third unit along with an upgrade of the control systems, and the second consisting of an emergency overhaul of the second unit. In addition, at Zueitina Power Plant in eastern Libya, LIGOS executed four emergency overhaul projects in cooperation with GE for several generating units, including an emergency overhaul of the second unit, with the aim of ensuring operational continuity and maintaining grid stability.
Furthermore, LIGOS participated in the execution of a major overhaul of the fifth gas turbine unit at Zawiya Power Plant, which was completed successfully in terms of schedule adherence and execution efficiency, with all works finalized within two months through coordinated efforts and strong team collaboration. In addition, the company carried out an emergency overhaul of the first unit at South Tripoli Power Plant, a highly sensitive project due to its implementation during the winter peak demand period, requiring a high level of readiness and rapid technical response to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
